A family quietly watching over their pet at home

Who this is for

The families in the gap

Nothing dramatic has happened. No diagnosis, no emergency. But you know your pet, and something has shifted. Not dramatically. Just quietly. You can feel it in the small things, and you don't know what to do with that feeling.

These small, quiet changes are easy to miss between regular checkups. We’re here to help you make sense of them.

This visit is for you. Not for families in crisis. For families in the gap between “everything’s okay” and “we have a decision to make.” Every family deserves support in that space.

You might be noticing:

  • They’ve stopped joining you upstairs or on the couch
  • Sleeping on the kitchen tile instead of their usual bed
  • Putting the brakes on at the back door or driveway
  • Turning away from food they always loved
  • Only moving between two rooms now, their world slowly shrinking
  • A question you can’t quite shake, even if you can’t name it yet

This visit is also for you if…

  • Your vet just gave a diagnosis and you’re not sure what it means for their quality of life.
  • Your vet has mentioned palliative support, and you don’t know what comes next.
  • Something changed suddenly, and you need someone to tell you honestly what they see.
  • Your pet is on long-term medication and you want to know how they are really doing.

What to expect

A visit designed around your pet, not a checklist.

Our commitment

You’ll understand your pet differently before we leave your home.

Every Quality of Life Assessment is designed to help you better understand what your pet is experiencing today, what changes may lie ahead, and how you can support their comfort at home. Whether the next step is adjusting treatment, continuing to monitor, or building an ongoing Comfort Care plan, you’ll leave with greater clarity, confidence, and a personalized recommendation for what comes next.

1

We arrive knowing your pet’s name, and we let them come to us.

No rushing in. No immediate handling. We give your pet the time they need to get comfortable with a stranger in the house before anything else happens.

2

We hear what brought you here before we touch anything.

What you’ve noticed, what’s changed, what’s been keeping you up at night. That conversation shapes everything that follows.

3

A physical exam in their own space

We examine your pet where they feel safest, at their own pace, in the space they know. No cold tables. No unfamiliar smells. No rushing.

4

We look at what a clinic never sees.

The floors they avoid, the stairs they’ve stopped climbing, where they rest now compared to where they used to. Those are details you can only see at home, and we look for all of them.

5

Your three biggest concerns, our focus throughout

We ask you before we begin: what are the three things you most want clarity on by the end of this visit? Every part of the appointment is shaped around giving you as much clarity as we honestly can on each one.

6

A clear recommendation for what comes next

Before we leave, you'll have a clear next step: whether that's continuing to monitor, an ongoing Comfort Care plan, a referral back to your primary vet, or simply reassurance, along with as much clarity as we can honestly give you.

Before you book

What this visit is not

  • Not a replacement for your primary vet. We complement your pet’s regular care and refer back when needed.
  • No diagnostics or lab work. This is an in-home comfort and quality-of-life assessment, focused on observation and honest conversation.
  • Not for emergencies. If your pet is in acute distress, please contact your primary vet or an emergency clinic immediately.

“I highly recommend I Everloved Vet Care if you're having to go through this heart breaking decision. I want to thank Holly for all of her kind words & Dr. Stephanie Bowes for their compassionate service. We did not want to put Abigail through the stress and pain of getting her in our vehicle, the anxiety of going to the vets office. Her quality of life was declining over a period of time and was becoming more aggressive. The last thing that we wanted was to stress her out more. Stephanie came to our house and in my heart I feel that Abi was never anxious or stressed during the whole process. It was almost as if she passed peacefully in her sleep in the comfort of her home with loved ones around her. It was the transition that she deserved. Also, thankyou Compassionate Pet Cremation for the beautiful keepsakes to remember her by.”
