“Who ever is going through the difficult process of having to put their furry baby to sleep, I 1000% recommend EverLoved Vet Care in Lakeland. Dr. Bowes is the most compassionate at such difficult times at an unbeatable price. My regular vet do euthanasia but not at the comfort of my sweet Dominick own home, at our own pace and available day or time. Love Dr. Bowesβ€οΈPs- picture frame not included.”
“The hardest part about the decision to put our precious 18-year-old dog down was second-guessing whether it was time or whether we should wait. It was agonizing. Dr. Stephanie Bowes (Lakeland, FL) was amazing. When she came to our home, she was patient and genuinely empathetic. We discussed our dog's health conditions, behavior, mood, and little details about how all that had changed and declined over time. She was not condescending, and she did not spout worn-out platitudes to make us feel better. She gave us real, practical, and objective medical explanations and insights that gave us confidence that we were making the right decision. She also explained the process of euthanasia so that we were not concerned about our dog suffering. She was gentle with our dog, who responded well to her, which is saying something because our dog had grown progressively grumpy as she aged and did not take well to strangers. Dr. Bowes gave us all the time we needed to say our goodbyes. When it was over, she sat with us quietly and respectfully until we were ready for her to take our dog. The cremains container with the custom plaque with what we wanted on it, the paw and nose prints, and the tuft of hair we received later were also very comforting. We cannot say enough good things about what a wonderful service Dr. Bowes and loved.vet provided.”

I found it more and more important to focus and give attention to a pet's last chapter or few pages of their story when it came to supporting my clients. End of life care isn't all that I wanted to focus on, but it was important to me to provide a thoughtful service to families that didn't make them feel that much worse about their decision. Too often families that I've seen felt a lack of support in making one of the most difficult decisions for a family member. There was this complete drop-off when it came to dedicated time and space to understanding the age process in a pet or the changes they were experiencing with any given disease. I've always believed my place as a veterinarian was a member of their trusted care team, and I was there for enable families to care for their pets in the best way possible...and that means to the very end.
