In-home pet euthanasia in Lakeland, FL
A Peaceful Goodbye

Why Lakeland Families Choose In-Home Euthanasia

Picture your dog on their favourite blanket, the whole family gathered around, no waiting-room number, no unfamiliar smells, no rush. We serve dogs, cats, and other companion animals across Polk County

Most families' only other option is their regular vet's clinic, where a euthanasia appointment is squeezed between routine visits, in a room that smells of other animals, with a time limit. Home replaces all of that.

“On January 5, 2024 we had to put our beloved Zoey to sleep and we decided at home would be the best option. The EverLoved Vet Care team was wonderful! I can not say enough good things about Dr. Bowes and Julie.”

“After wartime/combat service I was awarded a service dog. She was dying and could hardly function. I called Everloved and a veterinarian was sent to our home to evaluate my service dog. My service dog was dying and suffering. The veterinarian confirmed that my beloved Dutchess of so many years was suffering and in pain. We made the decision to proceed. The doctor explained everything to my daughters of eight and my twin six year olds. She was an angel, a kindred spirit, a teacher with infinite wisdom like an oracle. She was caring, tactful, and respectful. Slowly she administered a pain reliever and sleep medication. For the first time in months my service dog was in a total relaxed, pain free state. She then administered the medication that allowed my loyal companion to cross the rainbow bridge into the astral plains. Everloved was thoughtful, caring, professional and gave us time to cry and mourn. After a few days of mourning, they returned with her ashes in an ornate box, samples of her coat, and a puppy paw imprint. They sent us a card and ensured our needs were met. They connected us to a counseling service for my girls to express to a counselor their feelings and the counselor helped them through the bereavement process.Thank you for you consummate professionalism, caring, and understanding. Your firm was amazing, your doctor an angel!Semper Fidelis,Mr. RamosAviator, Retired”

“5 stars isn't enough. We were treated so well from intake with Holly, to our visit with Dr. Bowes. Facing a surprise terminal diagnosis, we didn't feel it was best to put our beloved dog down immediately. After some at home with us pre- grieving, we realized she was declining rapidly, and it was the best decision to move forward. It was such a gift to proceed in our dog's environment surrounded by those who loved her and she loved. Thanks again EverLoved staff.”

"End of life care is not just about providing death, it's about education, reassurance, dignity and true tranquility."

Dr. Stephanie Bowes, DVM, holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Psychology from the University of South Florida and earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine, where she also completed a certificate in Veterinary Business Management. Licensed in Florida since 2016, she became a Certified Peaceful Euthanasia Veterinarian in 2023, a credential that reflects the work she had already been drawn to for years in clinical practice. She currently serves on the Florida Veterinary Medical Association Executive Board as the District 3 Central representative.

I found it more and more important to focus and give attention to a pet's last chapter or few pages of their story when it came to supporting my clients. End of life care isn't all that I wanted to focus on, but it was important to me to provide a thoughtful service to families that didn't make them feel that much worse about their decision. Too often families that I've seen felt a lack of support in making one of the most difficult decisions for a family member. There was this complete drop-off when it came to dedicated time and space to understanding the age process in a pet or the changes they were experiencing with any given disease. I've always believed my place as a veterinarian was a member of their trusted care team, and I was there for enable families to care for their pets in the best way possible...and that means to the very end.
