A personal farewell
Why choose home burial?
Home burial offers a deeply personal way to say goodbye, in the familiar space that was the entirety of your pet's world. It keeps them close. It lets your family grieve in your own time and on your own terms.
At Loved, we understand the weight that comes with these decisions. We're here to guide you through every option available so you can honor your pet in the way that feels most true to the bond you shared.
Home burial offers:
A private, intimate farewell in familiar surroundings
A lasting resting place you can visit and tend to
The comfort of keeping your pet close to home
Freedom to personalize the memorial in a meaningful way
Know before you proceed
Legal considerations
Before proceeding with a home burial, it's important to be aware of local regulations, which can vary significantly by location, especially following a euthanasia procedure.
Check your local rules first
We strongly recommend contacting your local city or county authorities before proceeding. Regulations may cover burial depth, proximity to water sources, and property boundaries. Compliance ensures your pet's farewell is respectful to your community as well.
Key questions to ask
Is home burial of pets permitted in my city or county?
Are there minimum burial depth requirements?
Are there restrictions related to euthanasia medications?
Does my HOA have any rules about the property?
How we help
Our role in your pet's farewell
Our compassionate team is ready to support you through these difficult moments. Whether you need practical guidance on the burial itself or simply a caring presence, we are here for you.
During our in-home visit, we can assist in preparing the burial site and offer advice on creating a respectful and peaceful resting place, so you can focus entirely on being present with your family.
Prefer a different option?
Alternatives to home burial
For families who prefer other arrangements, we offer full aftercare services including cremation and memorialization. These alternatives can honor your pet's memory in an equally meaningful way, suited to your preferences and circumstances.
A meaningful memorial doesn't need to be elaborate. Small, personal touches make the biggest difference.
Plant a tree or garden
A living plant at the burial site grows as a living reminder of the life and love your pet gave. Native species thrive with minimal care.
Add a memorial marker
A simple stone, custom plaque, or engraved garden marker gives the site a sense of permanence and becomes a place to return to.
Create a memory corner
Place a framed photo, a candle, or a small keepsake nearby. Grief has no timeline. Having a dedicated space helps the healing process.

“The hardest part about the decision to put our precious 18-year-old dog down was second-guessing whether it was time or whether we should wait. It was agonizing. Dr. Stephanie Bowes (Lakeland, FL) was amazing. When she came to our home, she was patient and genuinely empathetic. We discussed our dog's health conditions, behavior, mood, and little details about how all that had changed and declined over time. She was not condescending, and she did not spout worn-out platitudes to make us feel better. She gave us real, practical, and objective medical explanations and insights that gave us confidence that we were making the right decision. She also explained the process of euthanasia so that we were not concerned about our dog suffering. She was gentle with our dog, who responded well to her, which is saying something because our dog had grown progressively grumpy as she aged and did not take well to strangers. Dr. Bowes gave us all the time we needed to say our goodbyes. When it was over, she sat with us quietly and respectfully until we were ready for her to take our dog. The cremains container with the custom plaque with what we wanted on it, the paw and nose prints, and the tuft of hair we received later were also very comforting. We cannot say enough good things about what a wonderful service Dr. Bowes and loved.vet provided.”

“EverLoved is amazing! From the moment I spoke to Julie on the phone to discuss arrangements for assisting my beloved Dixie over the Rainbow Bridge, I felt at ease in choosing such a great company. It’s never easy making the call and decision in helping our fur babies end their suffering. Dr. Stephanie showed up on time and was so compassionate while talking to us. She walked us through each step of the way and ensured Dixie was not in any pain or discomfort. I could not have asked for a better service and highly recommend EverLoved. Their attention to detail and arrangements for Dixie’s ashes are such a heartfelt gesture that I will forever cherish. Thank you for taking care of us and Dixie!”

“I just wanted to take a minute and leave a review, because Dr. Stephanie was so incredible to our family. She was always so prompt to respond to any text messages or phone calls. We had a telephone consultation about euthanasia, and I never felt pressured or judged. She was so incredibly empathetic, and understanding. Dr. Stephanie was extremely knowledgeable, and suggested a few things to discuss with our regular vet. This in turn, allowed us to have more quality time with our sweet Lola. About a month ago, Lola passed away suddenly at our home, with all of us by her side. So, although euthanasia services were never actually needed, Dr. Stephanie still took the time to guide us on what to do in terms of cremation-- despite being on a work trip out of town, and despite never receiving any financial compensation from us. We will forever be thankful to her.Dr. Stephanie-- Thank you for providing these much needed services for all of us! I hope you realize how much peace you bring families, by helping their beloved (& most deserving) pets pass with dignity, without fear, and surrounded by their most favorite people. Thanks again!🩷🐾🌈”

“Two weeks ago, we bid farewell to our beloved, family dog, Jack, who was just shy of his 17th birthday. My husband and I heard end of life care can take place in our home, and we immediately realized that was the best fit for us. Our veterinarian’s office recommended everloved to provide the service. As hard as it was to say goodbye, Dr. Stephanie made the journey, both peaceful and so beautiful. One week later, Miss Julie returned Jack’s ashes in a beautiful wooden box with his name engraved on a placard. We also received a locket of his fur and a beautiful paw print etched in cement. With that said, we created a shrine in an area of our home, dedicated to Jack. The level of compassion, expertise, and professionalism from beginning to end cannot be matched with any experiences in our lifetime. Thank you for all that you do. It truly is a gift.”
